Neon Drift Rally: mastering the drift chain

August 7, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Neon Drift Rally clicked for us the moment we understood the drift chain. Individual drifts are fun, but linking them is where the real speed comes from, and it takes a bit of practice to feel natural.

The trick is to release your drift just as you exit a corner and immediately set up for the next one. Done right, your boost meter keeps filling and you barely lose momentum. We spent a few races just practicing this on the easiest track.

Car choice matters more than we expected. Lighter cars drift easier but are twitchy, while heavier ones feel stable but need earlier inputs. Try a few and see what matches your reflexes.

We also strongly recommend the tilt steering option. It felt awkward for the first race and then suddenly natural, giving finer control than the buttons for tight chains.

Don't chase perfect laps right away. Focus on smooth, connected drifts and the times come down on their own. It's one of those games where the fun and the skill grow together.
